Job Description:
Job Description Mission: The mission of the Director of Sales
(DOS) is to build, implement, and execute the organizations Sales
Strategy. This includes defining the sales structure, process, KPI
measurements, hiring strategy, compensation, performance
measurements, and managing the successful execution to achieve
targeted/agreed upon results. The DOS is responsible for achieving
topline sales volume, gross profit goals, and EBITDA targets.
Direct Reports: Sales Manager(s) Core Responsibilities: Strategy:
The DOS is responsible for the complete design, development,
implementation, and fine tuning of the sales strategy. This
includes: Evaluation and gap analysis of company's offerings,
market, opportunity, Design ideal sales team structure, including
positions and comp plans Evaluation and gap analysis of sales tools
including market data, customer data, CRM, marketing materials,
etc. Refine/Define target markets, target customer, and target
customer connection Build sales team playbook, customer contact
plays Defining key KPI's/metrics (leading and lagging indicators of
success) Team Member requirements (hiring and performance),
candidate requirements, training, launching, and performance
measurements Create complete training documentation Implementation
of Strategy: Using data collected in the strategy process, the DOS
will Implement/execute sales plan/strategy. Hiring A Players: The
DOC will ensure the sales team is staffed with high quality sales
team members with character, competence, chemistry, whose values
align with the organization. Metrics Measurement and Management:
The DOS establishes and monitors sales metrics and scorecards to
establish and track team members performance. The Director of Sales
ensures these metrics meet or exceed targeted goals. Utilizes tools
such as Balance Scorecard to make decisions based off established
goals. Primary/Key Operations Liaison: As the primary sales
liaison, the DOS ensures quality communication, information
sharing, and collaborative resource planning with operations.
Annual Budgeting and Planning Process: The DOS Participates in the
annual budgeting process. Works collaboratively with Leadership
Team to deliver accurate annual forecasts. This includes any
changes to dashboards, KPI's, metrics or individual scorecards.
Reviews and analyzes results to achieve agreed upon plan results.
Member of the Leadership Team (LT) (LT Members include: CEO, COO/VP
Ops, CFO, Sales Director, HR Leader): The DOS is a collaborative
member of the Leadership Team. As an LT member, the DOS works at
the executive level to evaluate operations, establish annual goals,
budgets, companywide performance management, etc. Company
Ambassador: As an LT member, the DOS is the face of the company
internally and externally. The DOS will represent the company in
the best possible light and always conduct him/her-self with
complete integrity Plays Well With Others: It is critical to the
success of the company, that each member of the LT work well
together to achieve company goals and objective. Respectful
dissension and discussion are essential to build best ideal, plans
and practices. Other Duties: Perform other duties as required
and/or assigned by the Division President Education and Experience:
Definition Required or Desired BS/BA in business related area of
study from an accredited college or university. Foreign study is
acceptable with validated conversion documentation-Required MBA
from an accredited college or university -Desired 20 years of
relevant business experience - Desired 7 - 10 years, recent
experience leading sales teams -Required 7 - 10 years recent
experience building successful sales systems -Required Experience
in rental, distribution, retail supermarket, Big Box wholesale
business model- Desired Demonstrated/proven experience and a
thorough understanding of budgeting, and P&L financial
reporting- Required 5 years recent experience creating and managing
through KPIs/metrics -Required Technology proficiency is 7 (on a
scale of 1-10) in the use of software tools such as: CRMs, Document
management systems (MS Office/Google Suite, etc) -Required
Excellent oral and written communication skills- Required
