Position: Public Affairs Representative
Location: Escondido, CA
Type: Full-Time
Volt is immediately hiring a Public Affairs Representative for a
leading public agency in Escondido, CA. This is a full-time
opportunity to work with a dynamic team that values communication,
creativity, and community impact.
As a Public Affairs Representative, you will:
Create compelling visual assets (infographics, brochures, fact
sheets, digital/print ads, presentations).
Design engaging video content using platforms like Canva, After
Effects, or Premiere Pro for YouTube, Instagram, and other
platforms.
Develop layouts and artwork using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign,
Photoshop, XD, Illustrator).
Maintain consistent brand identity across all materials.
Support one or more of the following specialized areas:Government
Relations
Community Relations & Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
Outreach
Media Relations
Website & Social Media Management
Graphic Services
Responsibilities Include:
Writing reports and delivering presentations (including
PowerPoint).
Acting as a liaison between the Water Authority and public
officials, business/community leaders, and the media.
Conducting outreach with stakeholders impacted by Water Authority
projects.
Analyzing legislation and helping develop organizational
positions.
Managing vendor contracts and special events.
Overseeing website updates and digital content creation.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications,
Journalism, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of progressive professional experience
in one or more public affairs areas (government relations, media,
outreach, digital media, or graphics).
Ideal Candidate Will Have Knowledge Of:
Public affairs strategies across multiple disciplines
Journalistic writing, editing, proofreading
Graphic design, layout, and production
Web and social media management (including analytics)
Government and community relations
Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and other relevant
tools
Requirements:
Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and visual
Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
California Driver's License and insurability under company
policy
Pay Rate: $42.00 - 56.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on
several factors, including the candidate's education, work
experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications,
etc.
