Description Are you looking for a career that will make an
impact?The Leidos Health Solutions Performance and Readiness
Division has an opening for an Injury Biomechanist to join the
Operational Readiness Directorate at the Naval Health Research
Center in San Diego, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to support
research projects aimed at studying military-related injuries
resulting from impact, blast, or other factors.This is a junior
level position and responsibilities will be performed under general
guidance from the government Principal Investigator and senior
research staff. -Are you ready for unique and exciting work?Primary
Responsibilities
- Load, process, and summarize various data types and files using
MATLAB or similar program. Further organize, clean, sort, and
analyze data using SPSS, R, SAS, or related data analysis programs
and interpret meaningful findings in tables, graphs, and written
form.
- Conduct casualty assessment using currently available high-rate
blast data and published computational models. Provide
recommendations for improvement and/or development of new
models.
- Perform thorough review of published literature, government
technical communications, and publicly available information
related to blast-injury outcomes and injury models. Synthesize and
summarize findings in comprehensive and concise reports and
presentations as well as provide gaps analysis.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with universities,
private entities, and Department of Defense organizations who are
currently developing or using similar injury prediction tools.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited US college or university,
or international university of equivalent standard in biomechanics,
kinesiology or related field
- Completion of basic technical coursework including
multivariable calculus, statics, and dynamics.
- Demonstrate strong programming skills in MATLAB and
Python.
- Demonstrate competency in Git version control and project
documentation
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% time, as needed for
customer-directed requirements.
- Willing and able to work non-regular hours, as well as extended
hours, such as overnight and on weekends as needed for customer
efforts.
- Hold US Citizenship and are able to obtain and maintain a
SECRET government security clearance.Preferred Qualifications
- Active Interim Secret or Full Secret Security clearance.
- Preferred completion of biomechanics, fluid mechanics,
optimization, and/or continuum mechanics.
- Have three or more years of related experience.---Naval Health

posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $53,950.00 -
$97,525.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general
guideline only -and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.

experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal
equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement
