Job Description:

Industry leading pharmaceutical technology company is seeking a Lab Tech II to work in San Diego, CA.

This is a twelve (12) month contract position with the possibility of extension/temp to hire.

Max pay is $19.00/hour.

Summary:

This position requires some experience in Life Science to address practical problems and situations normally encountered in manufacturing and Final Production. Job is focused on media preparation, OD reading, dispensing, and formulations.

Essential Functions:

Assist in manufacturing of products where readings using spectrophotometer OD is required.

Assignments are provided by supervisor, requiring a high degree of organizational skills and being able to prioritize based on demand

Work as a team with other members in the manufacturing and Final Production groups

Complete production related activities including but not limited to vial filling, vial capping, vial labeling, and in house manufacturing. Manufacturing in house will require formulation, dilution, reconstitution or other manipulation, and to be able to handle products extremely sensitive to temperature.

Carry out operations under controlled environmental conditions which include aseptic techniques, fume hood, and clean rooms.

Responsible for accurate recording of all data required, including inspection, and final product quality for all given assignments. Complies with all company and department safety procedures in handling biochemical, solvents and reagents.

Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and complies with established work instructions and procedure documentation. Completes production related activities in support of individual batch record equivalent and turn-around-time targets.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned manufacturing records with regard to materials and labor. Verifies the accuracy and quality of documentation.

Promotes a culture of quality and transparency with tasks at hand.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Degree or equivalent required. Bachelor?s degree desirable.

Demonstrated knowledge in the use of laboratory techniques such as buffer preparation, pipette usage, sterile technique, OD readings dispensing required.

0-2 years of experience or equivalent preferred in manufacturing biotech or related industry.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to accommodate occasional overtime as needed to meet production requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Experience performing readings using spectrophotometer for Optical Density.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.

Highly collaborative and team oriented.

Ability to multi-task and meet manufacturing production schedules.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to write-edit Standard Operating Procedures.
